About YeltolassWalks

Hello

My name is Sarah, and I've lived and worked in the beautiful city of York for over 30 years. Through Yeltolasswalks, I share my love and deep local knowledge of York and the stunning Yorkshire Wolds.
My walks aren’t about distance, speed, or steep climbs — they’re about slowing down, noticing the little things, and enjoying the journey. Whether we’re wandering through the historic streets of York or exploring peaceful paths in the Wolds, it’s all about conversation, curiosity, and connection with nature.
Everyone is welcome. My goal is to create a relaxed, friendly experience where you can enjoy being outdoors, learn something new, and maybe see familiar places in a whole new light.

Celebrate 25 Years  of the Millennium Bridge in York

Friday 10th April 2026 and Saturday 11th April 2026

Now for something slightly different...

Did you know that the Millennium Bridge in York turns 25 years old on Friday 10th April 2026?

So, come and celebrate 25 years of the Millennium Bridge in York on a guided walk on either of the dates below🥳

Start 10.30am at King’s Staith, next to Ouse Bridge. YO1 9SN
Distance approx. 3km/2miles
Finish by 12.30pm
Join us as we walk downstream along the historic waterfront from the city centre, over the meeting point of the Rivers Ouse and Foss before strolling along leafy New Walk to Millennium Bridge.
As we approach the iconic Millennium Bridge you will discover the stories behind this much loved landmark. Joining me on this walk will be Chris Teesdale, who was the Community Advisor to the Millennium Bridge (her name is on the plaque on the bridge) she will give us background to the planning and building of the bridge and regale us with little known facts as the bridge turns 25.
We will return along the opposite bank of the river through the ever popular Rowntree Park and riverside Clementhorpe finishing at Queen’s Staith by Ouse Bridge.
£10 per head, £15 adult plus children (cash or bank transfer on the day)
Please let me know if you would like to join us on either of these walks

Pocklington Amble

Tuesday 14th April 2026

Join me for a 4.5mile/7km round walk from Pocklington Market place. We will walk through the town, up Chapel Hill (hopefully we will enjoy views across the Vale of York) to Kilnwick Percy and visit the Madhyamaka Buddhist centre where the World Peace Cafe will be open, returning to Pocklington after a walk around the lake and grounds of the Buddhist Centre.

Start 10am Outside All Saints Parish Church, Pocklington

Finish Pocklington Market Place approx. 1pm

Pocklington is well served by East Rider buses running between York and Hull the X46 and X45 services run 3 times an hour for £3 per trip.

There is up to 4 hours free car parking at the two West Green car parks, but Tuesday is market day so parking can be tricky.

No charge Tuesday, all welcome
