Join me on this classic four mile loop from the village of Thixendale. Starting from the village we will walk up out of the dale, following the route of the Yorkshire Wolds Way over hill and down dale returning to Thixendale on the Chalkland Way. This is a classic Wolds walk of big skies, field boundaries and dry valleys.
At the end of the walk, St Mary’s Church in Thixendale is well worth a visit – I call it the ‘talking church’ as there is an interesting audio visual tour around the church which starts with the press of a button and gives you an informative tour of the church A short drive away from the village is Robert E Fuller’s Gallery, full of his nature themed artwork which again is well worth a visit.
Unfortunately, both the village shop and pub have long since closed so please bring own food and drink.
Walking boots are recommended.
